On January 26, I had the privilege to deliver fleece blankets I had sewn for patients receiving chemotherapy at Hudson Valley Cancer Center in Yorktown Heights, New York.
Infusion centers are typically kept at a cool temperature, and chemotherapy is colder than body temperature, so patients receiving chemo can get pretty chilly!
I thought a blanket they could use during their treatment would be the perfect solution, but one that could be rolled and tied up easily for return visits, since a single cycle of chemotherapy can last anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. So I tied a piece of ribbon to each blanket, allowing it to be transported easily.
I was well-received and so were the blankets!
